Components of Portable Heat Pump Units

A Portable Heat Pump Unit usually consists of the following parts:

1. Compressor

It is the core power component, equivalent to the "heart" of the human body. It compresses low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas into high-temperature and high-pressure gas through mechanical work, providing power for the refrigerant to circulate in the system. Common types include scroll, piston and screw compressors.

2. Heat exchanger

Evaporator: When cooling, it absorbs heat from the indoor air or other media, changing the refrigerant from liquid to gas; when heating, it does the opposite, absorbing heat from the external low-temperature environment.

Condenser: It has the opposite function to the evaporator. When heating, it releases heat into the room, cooling the high-temperature and high-pressure refrigerant gas and condensing it into liquid; when cooling, it releases heat to the outdoor environment.

Throttling device: mainly includes capillary tube and expansion valve. Its function is to throttle and reduce the pressure of high-pressure liquid refrigerant coming out of the condenser, turning it into low-pressure liquid refrigerant so that it can enter the evaporator to evaporate and absorb heat.

3. Control system

Temperature sensor: real-time monitoring of indoor and outdoor temperature and other parameters to provide data support for control.

Controller: Controls the operation of the compressor, fan and other components according to the set temperature and sensor feedback information to achieve temperature adjustment and mode switching.

Actuators such as relays: receive instructions from the controller, control the on and off of the circuit, and drive each component to work.

4. Ventilation or circulation system

Fan: In an air source heat pump, it is used to accelerate the flow of air on the evaporator and condenser surfaces to enhance the heat exchange effect.

Circulation pump: In a water source or ground source heat pump, it pushes water or antifreeze to circulate in the system to achieve heat exchange with an external heat source or heat sink.

5. Refrigerant pipelines and valves

Pipeline: Copper tubes and other materials are used to connect various components to form a closed refrigerant circulation channel.

Valves: including stop valves, reversing valves, etc., used to control the flow direction and flow of refrigerant to achieve different working modes such as cooling and heating.

6. Housing and accessories

Shell: It protects internal components, prevents dust and water, and is aesthetically pleasing. It is usually made of metal or engineering plastics.

Casters and handles: facilitate the movement of the equipment, reflecting its portable characteristics.
